Stephen Burns comes to Columbia College from Savannah College of Art & Design where he served as an Assistant Coach for two seasons. He brings a decade of college coaching experience with coaching stops at SCAD, Texas College, Webster University, Southern Polytechnic State University, and Missouri Baptist University. Burns also brings head coaching experience as he was the Head Basketball Coach for Texas College from 2002-05.

Burns is no stranger to the competition in the SSAC or success in the NAIA. During his stay at conference member Southern Poly, the Hornets made three NAIA Division I National Tournament appearances. Also, while playing at Missouri Baptist University, Burns’ team was ranked as high as #16 nationally in NAIA.

Burns graduated from Missouri Baptist University with a degree in Business Administration in 2001.

Amber Steglin joins Columbia College in her first season as Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach.  Amber attended the College of Charleston where she competes four years for the women’s basketball team and two years as the team captain.  Upon graduating, Amber attended the University of Florida where she earned a master’s degree in exercise and sports psychology while also teaching sport and fitness classes.  She then returned to the College of Charleston and the athletics department as the Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services.  Amber now lives in Columbia attending the University of South Carolina as a doctoral student in the field of Higher Education Administration.

Amber and her fiancée Glenn, have enjoyed the transition to Columbia and enjoy learning about their new town.
