2015 Columbia College Koala Volleyball Camp Info

Beginners Camp

-         Monday July 20 – Tuesday July 21

-         Cost: $130 – includes t-shirt

-         For 6th – 12th graders

Scope: This camp is for any one going into grades 6 – 12 who are new to the sport or who are considering trying out for their school team for the 1st time and want to learn the basic skills of the sport.  Campers will be introduced to the fundamentals of every skill of the sport and an introduction into how to play in a team concept as well.    

 

Advanced Camp

-         Wednesday July 22 – Thursday July 23

-         Cost: $130 – includes t-shirt

-         For 6th – 12th graders

Scope: This camp is for anyone going into grades 6 – 12 who have played the sport for a few years at both the high school and club level and are looking to advance their skill level even more.  Fundamentals of all the skills will be taught and players will be challenged in team concepts and style of play as well. 

 
 

Sessions for all 4 days are as follows:

Morning session: 9:00am – 11:30am

Lunch break: 11:30am – 1:00pm (lunch will not be provided, campers must bring lunch!)

Afternoon session: 1:00pm – 3:30pm

2015 Columbia College Volleyball Commuter Team Camp

 

Registration Form and Details

 

When:  Monday July 27 – Tuesday July 28

 

Scope:

This is a tournament style camp geared for High School Varsity and Junior Varsity teams to gain playing experience leading into the upcoming High School season as well as learn team strategies in offensive, defensive, serve and reception aspects of the game.

We can welcome 6 – 8 teams on 2 courts. Teams are required to have a coach with them at all times.  There will be 2 sessions each day with a lunch break in between.  Teams and players must bring lunch and drinks with them. 

 

Sessions will include: instructional sessions on team aspects of the game, court time to develop style of play and repetitions, cooperative team drills, and a final tournament with pool play and playoff formats. 

 
 

Cost:   $100 team deposit to secure spot (deposit is non-refundable)

             $75 per player  (includes a camp t-shirt)

 

Session Times for both days:

Morning session:       9:00 am – 11:30 am 

Lunch Break:             11:30 am –  1:00 pm

Afternoon Session:    1:00 pm -  3:30 pm

Checks can be made payable to “Columbia College Volleyball” (recommend that team registrations come from coach of a team in one check batch from all players attending)

2015 Columbia College Koala Volleyball Skill Clinics

Monday June 8 – Serving/Passing Clinic

When:  6 – 8:30 pm - Godbold Athletic Center (Columbia College Campus)

 

Scope: this clinic focuses specifically on developing the serving and serve receive areas of the sport. Participants will learn the value of making serves, how to serve aggressively with confidence, and how to receive a serve well and benefits of it. 

 

For players of all skill levels in grades 6 - 12 

 

Cost: $40

 

Tuesday June 9 – Ball Control/Defensive Clinic

When: 6 – 8:30 pm – Godbold Athletic Center (Columbia College Campus)

 

Scope: This clinic focuses specifically on developing good control of the ball on the 1st and 2nd contacts of the sport.  The clinic also emphasizes aspects of digging a ball properly and controlling it off of an attack.

 

For players of all skill levels in grades 6 – 12

 

Cost: $40

 

Wednesday June 10 – Setting Clinic

When: 6 – 8:30 pm – Godbold Athletic Center (Columbia College Campus)

 

Scope: This clinic is for players who primarily play the setter position or who are looking to become a setter in the future.  Aspects of the position will be covered from mentality of a setter,  technical breakdown of properly setting a ball, high volume reps of all types of sets. 

 

For players of all skill levels in grades 6 – 12

 

Cost: $40
