2007 Soccer Coaching Staff

April Raymer
Head Soccer Coach

April Raymer begins her second season at the helm of the Fighting Koalas soccer program.  After coaching two seasons at Traveler’s Rest High School in Greenville, South Carolina, Raymer brought her passion for the game of soccer to Columbia College. 

Raymer has experienced soccer at its highest levels during her playing career.  As a member of Furman University’s women’s soccer team, she earned Southern Conference All Tournament Team and 2nd Team All Conference honors as a sophomore, was named 1st Team All Conference her junior and senior seasons, and served as a team captain as a senior.  Before transferring to Furman, she played soccer at Wake Forest University for one season, where she played in 19 of 21 games as a freshman.  Raymer graduated from Furman in 2005 with a degree in Communication Studies.

Raymer was highly recruited out of Joseph Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia, where her career achievements include being named Gatorade Georgia Player of the Year her senior year.  In addition to soccer, Raymer also ran cross country at Joseph Wheeler and was named Best Runner in 1999, 2000 and 2001.

Dre Morrison
Assistant Soccer Coach

Dre Morrison begins her second season as Assistant Soccer Coach at Columbia College. 

Originally from Kernersville, North Carolina, Morrison attended East Forsyth High School where she was a member of the soccer, volleyball and track and field teams.  Among other honors, she was named East Forsyth Female Athlete of the Year as a senior.  

Morrison attended Furman University, where she competed in women’s soccer and track and field.  During her years at Furman, she excelled as a student and as an athlete -- she was on the SoCon Honor Roll and was a member of the All-Academic Team all four years; additionally, she earned Southern Conference Tournament MVP honors as a freshman and a junior, was named SoCon’s Player of the Year for women’s soccer as a sophomore, and reigned as Furman’s Female Athlete of the Year as a senior.  She graduated from Furman in June 2006 with a degree in Health and Exercise Science and is currently in her first year at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine.

Michael Nunley
Assistant Soccer Coach - Goalkeepers

Michael Nunley returns for his third season as a volunteer goalkeeper coach with the Fighting Koalas women’s soccer team.  His prior experience includes stints as a volunteer coach with Daniel High School in Central, South Carolina and Pickens High School in Pickens, South Carolina.

Nunley, who hails from Bradenton, Florida, competed for four seasons as a goalkeeper with the Southern Wesleyan men’s soccer team.  As a senior, Nunley was named the National Christian College Athletic Association All-South Region Goalkeeper of the Year, NCCAA 1st Team All-America Honorable Mention, and MVP Defensive Player of the Year.  He also was named a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Academic All-American. 

Nunley graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southern Wesleyan University in 2004, with a bachelor of science degree in Accounting, a bachelor of arts degree in Business Administration and English, and a minor in History.  He is currently in his second year at the University of South Carolina School of Law.
