| Soccer Captures First Win of the Season |
The Columbia College women’s soccer team captured their first win of the season Monday afternoon against Brevard College. Tuesday’s win came after an outstanding effort against Coker College that saw the Koalas to a 1-0 defeat with the only goal finding the net in the opening three minutes.
The Fighting Koalas were rewarded for the same intensity Monday against Brevard as Hayley Williams and Cordi Frances each scored twice to push the Koalas past Brevard 4-2. Aisha Jackson, Kristin Lord, Janie Rucker, and Sarah Connolley all recorded assists in the match.
On the win, Coach April Raymer said, “This was an outstanding team effort by everyone and Cordi and Hayley came through for us on their scoring opportunities.”
Columbia is next in action as they host Converse College Thursday, Aug 30 at 6PM.
