| Koalas Overpower Benedict College |
The Fighting Koalas tennis team overpowered local Benedict College Sunday afternoon.
The Koalas had success top to bottom as they defeated visiting Benedict College 7-2. Junior Beatriz Ospina and senior Elizabeth Barrett dominated their doubles appearance 8-0, while senior Chelsea Lee and freshman Ashley Chapman won in doubles 8-5.
In singles, the Koalas took 5 of 6 matches. Elizabeth Barrett, Beatriz Ospina, Megan Brown, Cordy Frances, and Sarah Hall all won their matches. Barrett, Ospina, and Francis won in straight sets, dropping only 5 games combined.
The win moves the Koalas to 4-4 on the year. Columbia College is next on the road to visit conference foe Brenau University, February 28 at 3:30. |
