| Tennis Defeats Emmanuel College |
The Fighting Koalas’ tennis team took to the road and defeated Emmanuel College 6-3.
The Fighting Koalas took two of three doubles matches, Elizabeth Barrett and Beatriz Ospina cruised to victory 8-1, and Cordy Francis and Ashley Chapman won 8-2.
On the singles side, the Koalas won four of five matches. Beatriz Ospina, the Koalas top singles player, rolled to victory over Emmanuel’s number three singles player 6-0, 6-1. Elizabeth Barrett defeated the number one singles player 1-6, 6-2, 6-1, Megan Brown defeated Emmanuel’s number two player 7-5, 7-6 (8-6), and Ashley Chapman won in three sets 4-6, 6-1, 6-3.
The Koalas will try to continue their success on their conference trip to Reinhardt College and Lee University this weekend. |
