| Koalas Back on Winning Side |
The Fighting Koalas are back on the winning side as they grabbed two wins in two days over Claflin University and Benedict College.
The Koalas took each match in only three games. While visiting Claflin University, the Koalas won 30-28, 30-20, 30-21. The Koalas came back the next day to match their performance with scores of 30-19, 30-27, 30-16. The victory over Benedict College was the Koalas’ first win against Benedict College two years.
Junior Lauren Bach recorded a team high 15 kills against host Claflin University followed by freshman Courtney Green who had 14 kills. Green repeated her performance posting a team high 14 kills against Benedict. The win moves Columbia to 8-11. Head Coach Brian Solomon was pleased on the improvement this week saying, “We raised the level of play and intensity this week. It helped us get back on the right foot as we begin the last month of the season.”
The Koalas will be back on the road Friday and Saturday as they visit conference foe Reinhardt College Friday and then visit Tennessee Temple University on Saturday.
