Department Information
The Department of Athletics at Columbia College is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC). The Fighting Koalas compete in basketball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, and softball. Softball is the most recent sport to be added to Columbia College. Softball begins in the 2008-09 season and will launch to intercollegiate status in 2009-10.
Mission
The department of athletics at Columbia College is committed to providing opportunities for young women to learn practical life lessons about leadership, teamwork and self-discipline through participation in intercollegiate athletics. The department has the responsibility to ensure the safest environment possible for its student-athletes that we provide through preseason physical examinations; sound conditioning; quality coaching; and safe, hazard-free facilities.
