Softball Catches Two in Myrtle Beach
Head softball coach, James Morrison, signed two players from Carolina Forest High School in Myrtle Beach, SC. Samantha Santoro and Sadonna Smith will once again be teammates when they take the field with the Columbia College softball team in its first season in the Southern States Athletic Conference.
Samantha Santoro, a pitcher for Carolina Forrest, will add to the team's depth on the mound. Coach Morrison, said, "Samantha has a lot of movement on her pitches and has great control. Also, she has a couple of strike out pitches that keeps the batters off balance. She will be able to help is many ways because she has a good bat and is very fast." Samantha will major in Biology when she arrives this fall.
Sadonna Smith is an infielder at Carolina Forest, which is currently competing in state playoffs. Sadonna will try to make an impact in the field with her defensive prowess and strong arm. Coach Morris said, "She is a seasoned player that knows the game and does the little things very well." Sadonna will enter this fall as a Biology major.
