Softball Grabs Katy Ghent

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Head Softball Coach, James Morrison annouced the addition of Katy Ghent to the Fighting Koalas 2013 recruiting class.

Ghent is a senior from Lancaster High School and will join Columbia Softball this fall as both a pitcher and infielder. A four year varsity starter Ghent is the second addition to a recruiting class of over ten players.

Columbia finished fourth this season in the Appalachain Athletic Conference and graduated 10 senior team members. Morrison has been recruiting players who can be valuable in more than one position,"Katy is an outstanding student and an outstanding softball player.  She is a very good pitcher, short-stop, and hitter.  We will be able to utilize her in many ways on the softball field."
