Basketball Overtakes Voorhees College

The Columbia College basketball team defeated Voorhees College in the Lucille Godbold Center Tuesday night.  LaPorcha Williams scored a team high 19 points, including 8-of- 8 shooting from the free throw line, to lead to Koalas to a 65-59 victory.

Columbia had four players score in double figures for the first time this season.  Along with Williams' 19, Emmie Bland scored 11, accompanied with Krystal Morrissette and Natasha Blackmore putting in 10 points each.  Columbia scored a season high 33 points from the free throw line, making 76 percent of their shots.

The win moves the Koalas to 2-6 on the season.  Columbia travels to take on Division I member Savannah State University this holiday weekend.  Tip off is set for 7:00 pm, Saturday, November 28th.
