Amber Ratza Joins Columbia College Golf for 2012
COLUMBIA, S.C. - Head Coach Josh Kiper announced the addition of Amber Razta to the 2012 Fighting Koalas Golf program.
Amber Ratza joins the Columbia College Golf Team for the 2012 program out of Mira Mesa High School, in San Diego, California. Ratza is an accomplished two sport athlete, excelling in both golf and softball. She was named 1st Team All League in 2010 and 2011 in golf, and was team captain during her senior year. She also was Team MVP for 3 years, and was named all City Conference four years in a row. In addition, she was named All-Academic team in 2011 and 2012.
Raztahad this to say about coming to Columbia College, “ I have always been a very competitive player when it comes to sports; the adrenaline rush and the vibe of greatness as it sets it path for a win. Softball is a lot different than golf. Golf is a great way for me to focus on my individual achievements as well as the team’s. I can’t wait to meet up with my new golf family and tee off the beginning of a fantastic four years at Columbia College.”
Coach Kiper said, “Amber is a great athlete and will bring a great deal of competitive nature to the squad, and her experience in playing dual sports will be valuable as far as her ability to cope with pressure situations. She also brings the notion of the value of a team and team camaraderie to the group, and will certainly help unify the rest of the team and help us work together as a competitive unit.”
