Columbia College Takes 8th in Direct Qualifier

April 26, 2016 - Callaway Gardens,  Pine Mountain, GA.  

On Monday and Tuesday, May 25th & 26th, 2016, The Appalachian Athletic Conference held their NAIA Direct Qualifier for women's golf at Callaway Gardens Lake Side Golf Course.  The winner of the tournament receives the AAC conference automatic bid to play in the NAIA Women's Golf Championship in Savannah, GA in May.  Milligan College won the Direct Qualifier by three shots over SCAD-Atlanta.  

 Columbia College finished in 8th place in the Direct Qualifier.

First Year, Samantha Melton - 83-84=167.  20th place

Junior, Laura Maurer - 83-90=173.  Tie for 27th place

First Year, Ashley Rogers - 91-85=176.  32nd place.

Senior, Alivia Seely - 89-96=185.  Tie for 40th place.

Sophomore, Kristen Jones - 107-97=204.  Tie for 48th place.

This is the end of the 2015-2016 golf season for Columbia.  The team will have their next tournament in September when they travel to Georgia to the Truett-McConnell Fall Invitational to start the fall season on September 11-13, 2016.  Have a great and blessed summer.
