LAURINBURG, N.C.— The Fighting Koalas (2-1-0) posted their second shutout in three games this season while outshooting the Lady Knights by a commanding 24-5 margin to grab a 3-0 victory.

Soccer Splits in Opening Weekend
BECKLEY, WV - The young Columbia College soccer team began their season this past Thursday, August 27th against Mountain State University. Columbia College kept the Mountain State Cougars at bay during the first half with an impressive performance from Columbia College defense only letting 4 shots on Goal the entire Match. Freshman Jessica Martinez led the Fighting Koalas offense with 6 shots on goal and 2 goals. The end result was a 2-0 win over the Cougars.

Soccer Falls at Lee in SSAC Tournament
The Fighting Koalas soccer team made the SSAC tournament for the first time in school history. However, Columbia was rewarded with a first round matchup with the number one seed in the tournament and second ranked team in the nation, Lee University. Lee prevailed 9-0 in the contest.

The Columbia College volleyball and soccer teams traveled to Rome, GA over the weekend to take on Shorter College and Berry College. The only win of the trip came when the volleyball team captured their first win over Berry College since joining the SSAC.
