White, Shortman, and Willis Join Soccer Program
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Head soccer coach, Josh Kiper, announced the addition of Heather White, Kacy Shortman, and Taylor Willis to next year’s team.
Heather White joins Columbia College from River Ridge High School in New Port Richey, FL. White was a midfielder and four year starter for River Ridge High School, making the state semi-finals two years in a row. White also played for Hudson Youth Soccer Club and was on the first team to earn a national rating. She plans on majoring in Biology and Chemistry at Columbia College.
Kacy Shortman, daughter of Rich and Deb Shortman, comes to the Fighting Koalas from Richland Northeast High School. Shortman was a member of iLink and Convergence Media, two magnet programs. She was awarded most improved player in her freshman season, and plans to major in elementary education.
Also, coming from Richland Northeast High School is Taylor
Willis. Willis has played club soccer for Columbia United and
Lexington County Soccer Club. Her Lexington County team
recently won the South Carolina State Cup and will move into
regional play in June. Willis said, “I am very excited
to be a part of the Columbia College soccer program in the
fall.”
