Columbia signs Lewter for 2017 soccer class

Head Coach Joshua Kiper has announced the addition of Bailey Lewter to the Columbia College Soccer Class of 2017 commitments.

Lewter comes to Columbia out of Lugoff-Elgin HS, in Lugoff, SC, where she played under head coach Carl Spoto. She has extensive club experience as well, having played under coaches Chris Fresco and Robert Hunter at Liverpool FC America SC.

For Lugoff-Elgin, Lewter was a two time all-region selection as well as being honored with a North-South selection in 2016.

During her time with Liverpool, Lewter was a member and leading goalscorer for the 2014 and 2015 PMSL league champions, while also having helped the 98 Neal team to the Savannah Showcase championship in November 2016.

Coach Kiper said about Lewter, "Bailey is a player we have always been impressed by, and we are excited that she is coming to join our team here at Columbia. She has a lot of versatility with where she can play on the field and also has plenty of experience playing at a high level, so we feel as if Bailey can come in and contribute immediately."

Lewter becomes the third announced player for the Koalas 2017 soccer class, with Coach Kiper eager to add and announce more names in the near future.
