Robert Hunter is in his 7th year with Columbia College, first as the Head Coach. While at Columbia, the team has achieved a record of 70-40-6, while making the conference championship game in 2011, and achieving 2nd and 3rd place finishes in the conference in 2015 and 2016. Prior to Columbia, Hunter played professionally in England after playing collegiately at Coastal Carolina where he received his Masters of Arts in Teaching, and Furman University, where he received a Bachelors of Arts in Communications. At Coastal Carolina, Hunter garnered Big South First Team All-Conference honors in 2008, leading the team with 11 goals and 6 assists, while also being named to the Big South All-Tournament Team in leading Coastal to the championship game. In 2009, he received Big South All-Academic Team recognition and led the team to the regular season Big South Conference championship. Prior to playing in college, Hunter represented both the South Carolina and USYSA Region III team in ODP and attended IMG Soccer Academy his senior year of high school. Hunter currently holds a NSCAA National Diploma and coaches at GPS Lexington SA where he is also the camp and tournament director, and resides in Columbia.
