Joshua Kiper is entering his 4th season as the head soccer coach for the Fighting Koalas.
Kiper came to Columbia College from Lakeland
Kathleen High School in Lakeland, Fl, where he led the men's soccer
program from 2005-07. In his last year, Kiper's leadership resulted
in a showing in the regional finals of the state tournament. Prior
to coaching at Lakeland, Joshua was the director of youth soccer
leagues at the Plant City YMCA in Tampa, FL. In 2007 Kiper received
his National Diploma coaching license from the NSCAA.
Kiper graduated from Southern Wesleyan University as a four year
starter and career record holder in assists. While competing for
the Warriors, he was also named to the all-conference team for what
is now the Southern States Athletic Conference and to the NCCAA
all-region team. Kiper also graduated from Southern Wesleyan with
four Bachelor of Science Degrees in Business Administration,
Accounting, Recreation, and Sports Management.
He received his advanced national coaching diploma from
the NSCAA in 2009.
At Columbia College after his 1st year of recruiting the
Koalas made their first ever appearance in the SSAC Conference
tournament. Then after the 2nd year in recruiting the
Fighting Koalas saw a couple of more firsts, reaching most wins in
a season as well as player’s receiving individual honors
through the SSAC conference. Coach Kiper states, “The program
is really thriving and I am very excited about the future. With the
players returning and the ones that we are recruiting I believe we
can accomplish a couple of big things for the fall of 2011
season.”
Joshua resides in Lexington, SC with his wife Shena and their children Joshua, Jaxon, and Jordyn.
Chris Fresco

Chris Fresco is entering his first season as an assistant coach for Columbia College. Originally from Seattle, WA, Fresco comes to Columbia by way of North Carolina where he played for and managed a number of teams in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, NC. He was a member of the CASL, CHAC, NCASA, and Duke soccer leagues in North Carolina from 2007-11. Prior to relocating to NC, Fresco graduated from the University of Washington and managed squads in the Greater Seattle Soccer League. Also during that time, he played for Seattle Wolves FC in the Pacific Coast Soccer League (now merged with the Washington Crossfire of the USL PDL) and helped the club rise up the American soccer pyramid from 2003-07. His youth playing career in the northwest includes captaining his club Mukilteo-MYSC in state, national, and international play, as well as playing for Kamiak High School as a four-year varsity letterman. Fresco has received coaching diplomas from the NSCAA and is nationally-licensed with the USSF. He also head coaches at Lexington County Soccer Club.
Robert Hunter

Robert Hunter is entering his first year as an assistant with Columbia College. Prior to Columbia, Hunter played collegiately at Coastal Carolina where he received his Masters of Arts in Teaching, and Furman University, where he received a Bachelors of Arts in Communications. At Coastal Carolina, Hunter garnered Big South First Team All-Conference honors in 2008, leading the team with 11 goals and 6 assists, while also being named to the Big South All-Tournament Team in leading Coastal to the championship game. In 2009, he received Big South All-Academic Team recognition and led the team to the regular season Big South Conference championship. Prior to playing in college, Hunter represented both the South Carolina and USYSA Region III team in ODP and attended IMG Soccer Academy his senior year of high school. Hunter currently holds a USSF “D” license and resides in Columbia, SC.
