Megan Monahan claims AAC Swimmer/Diver of the Week Award

Koalas' Senior swimmer Megan Monahan won the Week 2 AAC Swimmer/Diver of the Week award for the week ending 11/6.

Monahan achieved three individual 1st place finishes in the Women's 1000 Yard Freestyle (11:40.24), 200 Yard Backstroke (2:13.64), and the 500 Yard Freestyle (5:52.58) during the third meet of the season at Point University. Her time for the 1000 Yard Freestyle broke the current team record. On the National level, Monahan's time for the 200 Yard Backstroke was a National Qualifier.

Additionally, Monahan was part of the winning 400 Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of (4:06.02). Monahan won every race in which she swam over the weekend and was instrumental in the 151-61 point victory over Point.

"Megan had a great meet on Saturday." Coach Gallaher commented. "She is doing a great job for us this season overall. She's taking a very serious approach to her training, and her work ethic is outstanding.  Megan is poised to have another great year."  

This marks Columbia College Swim Team's second consecutive weekly award this year.
