Senior Cassie Adams Makes History

This past weeekend history was made for the Columbia College swim team. Senior Cassie Adams qualfied for the 2019 NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championship Meet to be held in February. Cassie is the first ever 4-year, individual Automatic Qualifier for the National Championship meet.

At the Brenau Invitational Adams placed 1st in the 100m butterfly, 2nd in the 200 breaststroke, 3rd in the 100m breaststroke, and 3rd in the 200m individual medley. Cassie qualified for Nationals in all of these events.

Joining Cassie, is Sophomore Tabitha Simonson who acheived an NAIA Individual Bonus Cut time in the 400 Individual Medley, and Senior Marianne DeWitt who also acheived Bonus Cuts in the 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, and the 200m freestyle. All of which were top 10 finishes at the Brenau Invitational.

The Koalas are far from finished with the season and continue to look to improve after the winter break.
