Martirosyan Named Tennis Player of the Week

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Columbia College’s Lilit Martirosyan has been named the OnePath Systems SSAC player of the week for women’s tennis.  Martirosyan has been Columbia College’s number one singles player for two seasons, as well as playing on the top doubles team.  This is the first player of the week award for a Columbia College tennis player.

Originally from Yeren, Armenia, Martirosyan grew up in Moscow, Russia.  She picked up tennis at the age of eight, which is the sport that eventually brought her to the United States.  Before attending Columbia College, Martirosyan played two seasons at Division I member Sam Houston State University.

Martirosyan looks forward to graduating with a degree in Computer Information Systems from Columbia College in spring 2012.
