Athletic trainers (ATs) are healthcare professionals who have many specializations including injury prevention, examination and diagnosis of injuries, rehabilitation, emergency care, and health administration/organization. They are not isolated to one population but instead have a very broad reach. ATs can be found serving in high schools, colleges, the military, clinic/hospitals, performing arts, industrial settings, etc. With such a wide range of skills, athletic trainers are able to manage the overall healthcare for their population and facilitate further care as needed. March is National Athletic Training Month where we not only aim to shed light on the athletic training profession but to also celebrate the work athletic trainers do.
