Track Signs Two USATF Junior Olympians

Joining the Koalas Cross Country and Track & Field teams for next year will be Victoria and Jessica Heiser-Whatley. Victoria and Jessica are twin sisters that hail from Greer, South Carolina and graduated from Riverside High School. They signed their Letters of Intent on November 19th to compete in cross country, indoor and outdoor track & field.

Last year, Jesi and Tori finished 1st and 5th respectively in the 3000m racewalk at the New Balance Outdoor National Championship. They would finish 1st and 2nd at the 2018 USATF Junior Olympic National Championship, and the USATF Youth Outdoor National Championship. In 2017, the twins again finished 1st and 2nd at the USATF Junior Olympic National Championships, this time with Tori taking national champion honors.

Aside from their tremendous racewalk talents on the track, they will be a huge part of the Columbia College cross country team as well. Jesi has a high school personal best of 20:56, and Tori has run a 20:37 personal best at the 5k distance. Jesi will also lend her arm to throw the javelin, and Tori has an impressive high jump personal best of 4' 10".

They were joined at the signing by their future teammates, along with their very proud parents, Ian Whatley and Susan Heiser.
