Volleyball Drops to SSAC’s Best

The Columbia College volleyball team took to the road to play two tough conferences matches, one against undefeated Berry College.  Columbia College fell to Shorter and Berry College in four sets.

Friday night, the Koalas fell to Shorter College 23-25, 18-25, 25-23, 16-25.  Saturday resulted in another four set defeat to top ranked Berry College 17-25, 25-19, 19-25, 23-25.   Passing was a struggle all weekend for the Koalas, but after senior Brittany Strickland stepped in at libero position the team stepped up its level of play against Berry College.   Columbia College led in the fourth set against Berry 22-19, but was outscored 6-1 after a Berry College timeout.

Freshman Janelle Fetui recorded two double doubles over the weekend.  In total, Fetui recorded 30 kills and 37 digs.   Columbia College is now seventh in the SSAC and will try to make up ground next weekend against Reinhardt College and Lee University
