Koalas Hit Way to Victory
The Columbia College volleyball team pushed through a tough night at the service line to out hit Brewton-Parker College in a 5 set home victory 26-28, 25-29, 23-25, 26-24, 15-10.
The Koalas struggled all night from the service line, recording 18 service errors. However, the Columbia offense came through in a big way with 70 kills to Brewton-Parker's 46. Four players had 15 at least kills for the Koalas: Tara Prater (20), Jennifer Monroe (16), Aarika Munro (16), and Nikki Golston (15). Sophomore Liz Richardson set a school record 59 assists. Libero Erica Allman led the team with 25 digs and 5 service aces.
The win moves Columbia into third place, at 6-3 in the SSAC and 22-6 overall. They will try to recharge for a weekend double header against Faulkner University on Friday at 6:30 pm. and Lee University on Saturday at 12:00 pm.
