Allman Nets 1500 Career Digs in 4 Set Victory
COLUMBIA, S.C. - Senior Libero, Erica Allman reached 1500 career digs tonight in a four set victory against conference member Bryan College. The Fighting Koalas move to 8-4 in the AAC conference and 18-9 overall.
Columbia won the first set with an impressive all around team performance winning 25-20. The Lions of Bryan College tied it up winning the second set 25-23. The Fighting Koalas answered back and closed out the victory in the third and fourth sets winning 25-16 and 25-22 at home.
Allman, a senior from Little River, SC hit a milestone in her last season at Columbia, surpassing 1500 career digs in regular season play. Already once named AAC player of the week this season with a game high of 51 digs. Allman continues to lead her team in digs per set and sits fourth in the conference in digs per set with an average of 5.2.
Assistant Katie Welsh is proud of Allman, "Erica has worked extremely hard to accomplish this milestone. She is more concerned about playing hard for her team and putting her teammates first in her last season. Our team prides themselves on challanging each other to become the best volleyball players they can be."
Columbia looks to honor Allman and four other seniors this Saturday October, 22nd against Virginia Intermont at 2:00 p.m. after the match in Godbold Center.
