Down 13-10, senior setter Melissa Dixon closed out the set on a 5 – 0 serving run to complete the comeback and the victory.
On Saturday, the Koalas squared off with a much improved Bluefield squad the proved quite feisty. Columbia raced out to 1st and 2nd set victories by scores of 25-23 and 25-16. Bluefield responded in the match by taking the 3rd set 25-13. In a back and forth 4th set affair, Columbia held a late 21-17 lead only to have Bluefield fight back to tie the score at 22. The Koalas buckled down from there and closed things out with a 25-23 set win and the match.
