Waibel Competes at Nationals

After a long hard fought season, the cross country season has finally ended. But not before Junior Alyssa Waibel got the opportunity to compete at the NAIA National Meet.

Last Friday Waibel was in Cedar Rapids, Ia competing for the All-American status. Alyssa finished the race in 19:11.0 which is her second fastest time. She placed 159th out of 341 competitors.

All wasn't lost for Waibel. Earlier in the day before the race it was announced that Waibel along with teammate Lauren Glencross both received the NAIA Daktronics Scholar Athelete Awards. Which is awarded to athletes who have maintained a 3.5 or higher GPA.

Now the attention is shifted to the track and field season, which begins on November 30th. The track team travels to Roanoke College to compete at the Bast-Cregger Invitational to open their indoor season.
