Bio

Glen M. Crawford is entering his third year as the Director of Athletics at Columbia College after serving as head Softball coach at Lander University in Greenwood, SC, for the previous seven seasons.

Crawford, who is no stranger to the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC), earned his Bachelor's degree from Union College (Ky.) and spent eight years at the helm of the Reinhardt University (Ga.) Softball program.
During his tenure at Reinhardt, Crawford led the Eagles to five NAIA National Tournament appearances, six-straight AAC Championships, a 3rd place national finish and claimed AAC Coach of the Year honors three times.

He plans to guide Columbia College Athletics to national prominence through judicious budgetary utilization, effective fundraising strategies, competitive recruiting efforts, and a positive impact on student-athlete and fan experiences.

Since becoming the AD at Columbia, Crawford has oversaw the addition of men's basketball, men's and women's lacrosse, cheerleading, and Esports teams. He has also seen the renovation of Younts Stadium from grass to turf field in the summer of 2025 and as well as the renovation of Porter Gymnasium in the summer of 2024 with the addition of a new floor, bleachers, and seating on the stage. He also was in charge of renovating the Weight Room and installing new locker rooms for the indoor teams.

Crawford and his wife Julie reside in Greenwood, SC and have two daughters, Haylie and Riley.
