BLUEFIELD, VA - The Columbia College men's soccer team rolled to an easy shutout victory over Bluefield University on the road Wednesday winning 3-0 as they shut out their third opponent over the last four matches.
The win improves the Koalas to 5-9-2 overall and 4-8 in the AAC, their most conference wins in school history since the program began in 2021.
Columbia outshot the Rams 7-1 in the first half led by a goal from freshman midfielder Abner Madrid in the 22nd minute off an assist from senior midfielder Grayson Allen. The men then added two goals in the second half from sophomore forward Aedan Bowers and freshman defender Andrew Wilson in the 75th minute to put the game away while outshooting BU 11-3 and 18-4 overall. Senior midfielder Gabriel Guadagno then added an assist on Wilson's goal.
Junior Goalkeeper Nathan Huff picked up the shutout win making 2 saves on both shots on goal as he improved to 3-4 in the net while Bowers led the Koalas with 7 total shots and three on goal.
Columbia will next host Bob Jones University (SC) in their home finale on Wednesday at 6:00 PM from Younts Stadium as they wait and see if they have made the conference tournament.
