COLUMBIA, SC - The Koala Men's Soccer team battled for a hard-fought 90 minutes Wednesday night but the clash between the Bob Jones Univ. Bruins and Koalas ended in a 0-0 draw.
The Koala defense remained solid throughout and limited any sort of offensive movement the Bruins had as BJU took a slim 6-4 shot count edge at half.
After halftime, the Bruins came out with an attacking game plan but the Koalas came out aggressive with hard challenges. Throughout the half, the Bruins had numerous chances to get on the board, but the Koalas' goalkeeper Nathan Huff made several key saves among his six on the night to keep the Bruins scoreless as the scoreless draw held until the final whistle. BJU outshot the Koalas 6-2 in the second as senior MF Dan Stryffeler led with two shots.
The Koala men finish their season 5-9-3 overall while BJU improved to 10-2-2. Columbia finished 9th in the 14-team AAC, just missing out on the conference tournament under interim head coach Logan Koon.
