Men's Soccer Shuts Out Reinhardt 3-0

WALESKA, Ga. - The Columbia College men's soccer team continued their four-match unbeaten streak by shutting out Reinhardt University 3-0 on the road Saturday evening in Georgia for their first win over the Eagles in program history.

The win was the Koala's 5th victory of the season overall tying the school record while the team is now 3-2-2 in the AAC and tied for 5th in the conference with 11 points. It is the best standing for them this late into a season in program history as well.

Sophomore midfielder Noah Poungthana got the Koalas onthe board in the 20th minute of action scoring unassisted. Fellow sophomore midfielder Andres Abril then added a goal in the 43rd minute to give CC a 2-0 lead at the intermission.

Freshman forward Jacob Madeiros then added a third Koala goal in the 74th minute off an assist from Poungthana to put CC up three to nil in the second half.

Senior goalkeeper Nathan Huff went on to make two saves on both shots on goal for a shutout vicotry. CC outshot the Eagles 5-1 in the first half and 7-3 in the second half and 12-4 overall. RU fell to 2-4-1 in the conference and 2-6-2 overall.

Columbia will next head to Point University (3-4-2) in West Georgia on Monday evening at 6 pm for their final non-conference game of the season.
