AAC Announces All-Academic, Champions of Character Honorees for Track & Field

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) has announced the All-Academic and Champions of Character Teams for Men's and Women's Track & Field on Thursday.

Earning AAC All-Academic Honors were sophomore Jaylen Bostic, pictured below, and sophomore Jayden Young. Bostic was also named as the Columbia College track and field Scholar Athlete of the Year as well. CC also gave out their Leadership Award Winner at the Athletics Banquet in April.

Getting named to the Champions of Character team was junior Willy Calcano while also being named the Leadership Award winner. 

For the Champions of Character Team, student-athletes are nominated by their coach for best exemplifying the five core values of the NAIA Champions of Character program. The five values are integrity, respect, responsibility, servant leadership, and sportsmanship.

To qualify for the All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or above.
