Cross Country Runners Qualify for NAIA and Boston Marathons
Columbia College men's cross country runners, seniors Dorde Racic and Patrick Timmerman, have qualified for the NAIA Marathon National Championship to be held in Sacramento, California on December 8th, 2024.
The qualification process involved running multiple 2-hour time trial runs and averaging over 70 miles a week for twelve consecutive weeks.
The competition field consists of athletes from across the country looking to bring home a championship.
Both athletes have already qualified for the Boston Marathon to be held on Monday, April 21, 2025. Over 24,000 runners have so far been accepted.
The athletes will leave Columbia on December 5th to head to California for the race.
