Basketball Season to Begin

COLUMBIA, SC- Columbia College basketball is set to open their 2010-2011 season tomorrow night against Voorhees College. The  Fighting Koalas return key players at the point, wing, and post while adding five to a basketball squad that looks to pick up the pace on both ends of the court. Led by senior point guard Kiara Fefie and anchored in the post by seniors Emmie Bland and Natasha Blackmore, the Koalas enter the season expecting to significantly improve on last year’s season.“This roster has all the pieces to be competitive in the conference. It’s a matter of putting those pieces together effectively. As that happens, these ladies will exceed expectations,” says Coach Audas.

The basketball program looks to compete in 27 matches on the year, 13 at home. The highlights of the season include promotions for Faculty, Staff, Seniors, and Family. The Fighting Koalas look to open thier season at home on Wednesday, November 10th against Voorhees College.
