A native of Midfield, Alabama, Jala Hutchins joined the Women's Basketball Program in the spring of 2026 as a student assistant coach. She is majoring in Business Administration and will graduate in the fall of 2026.

Hutchins serves on the coaching staff after a playing career that saw her compete as a guard at the JUCO level for two years before transferring to Clinton College for a year and winning a NCCAA region title before finishing her academic and athletic career right here at Columbia College.
