The final round of the Columbia College Spring Invitational played at Columbia Country Club got off to a couple of different types of weather changes.  First the weather was sunny and warm, then it changed to being overcast with a few rain drops falling.  The weather cleared and the tournament finished under sunny skies and warm temperatures.

St. Andrews University from Laurinburg, NC, held on to their first round lead to win the tournament with a two day total of 310-342=652.  SCAD-Atlanta finished second in the tournament with a two day total of 338-333=671.  Columbia finished in sixth place in the tournament out of eight teams.  The Koalas improved by 11 shots in round two.  

 

Final Team Results:

1.  St. Andrews - 310-342=652  *ranked 32nd in the country for NAIA

2.  SCAD-Atlanta - 338-333=671  *ranked 17th in the country for NAIA

3.  Tennessee Wesleyan - 339-341  *ranked 31st in the country for NAIA

4.  Marian University - 347-335=682  *ranked 39th in the country for NAIA

5.  Union College - 348-351=699

6.  Columbia - 381-370=751

7.  Sandhills Community College - 401-383=784

8.  Spartanburg Methodist - 417-404=821

 

Columbia College Individual Scores:

 

Laura Maurer, Greenville, SC - 89-89=178, Laura tied for 24th place

Amber Ratza, San Diego, CA - 97-89=186, Amber finished in 31st place

Alivia Seely, Excelsior Spring, MO - 93-96=189, Alivia tied for 33rd place

Farrah Wright, Rock Hill, SC - 102-96=198, Farrah tied for 37th place

Breanna Spaulding, Atlanta, GA - 104-102=206, Breanna finished in 44th place

Christina Hall, Crown Point, IN - 99-97=196, Christina finished in 36th place

Rebekah Conwell, Columbia, SC - 101-97=198, Rebekah tied for 37th place

Erika Christiansen, Charleston, SC - 101-103=204, Erika finished in 42nd place.

Guenevere Jackson, Columbia, SC - 119-DNF, Guen was unable to play the second round.

 

The Koalas next tournament for the spring season will be March 16-18, 2014, as they travel to Covington, GA, to play in the SCAD-Atlanta Spring Invitational.
