Women's Lacrosse Chosen 6th in 2026 AAC Preseason Poll
WALESKA, Ga. - Cumberlands is a slight favorite to win the 2026 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) women's lacrosse championship, according to the coaches' poll released on Wednesday.
Univ. of the Cumberlands collected four of the seven first-place votes in amassing 46 points, edging Reinhardt. Reinhardt (Ga.) won the 2025 regular-season championship with a 5-0 league mark, while Cumberlands won the AAC Tournament. Both teams advanced to the NAIA National Championship Tournament, with Cumberlands making its way to the championship game.
Georgetown is third with 33 points, followed by TN Wesleyan in 4th, Truett McConnell in 5th, the Lady Koalas in 6th with 12 points and Montreat in seventh.
The Koalas are in their first season back competing since 2019 when they were 4-4 in conference and 5-7 overall. Once Covid canceled the season in 2020, the program took a short hiatus and will now retake the field in 2026 with head coach Mallory Bahr.
They will first host Pfeiffer in a scrimmage on Friday, January 30 at 3:00 pm before heading down to Sarasota, FL for their season opener against NCF. Columbia then returns home to host Warner on February 13 at 12 pm.
