Lady Koala Lacrosse Drops Game at #2 Cumberlands

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - The Columbia College women's lacrosse team fell 29-0 on the road at #2 University of the Cumberlands on Saturday in Kentucky.

UC got out to a fast start scoring 12 goals in the opening quarter before adding just four in the second to lead 16-0 at the break against the undermanned Koalas. Sophomore midfielder Meg Gill fouled out for the Ladies in the second quarter as UC played two women up (12v10) for the remainder of the game.

The Patriots then added 7 more goals in the third and six in the fourth for the win. Freshman goalie Lillianna Imhof made 7 saves on 36 shots on goal while recording 4 ground balls. Senior midfielders Cecilia Burke and Taylor Perry each led in draw controls with three apiece while freshman attacker Taylor Gipson picked up three ground balls. Gill and attacker Jasmine Williams also each recorded two draw control wins.

Columbia falls to 0-10 overall and 0-3 in the AAC while UC improves to 13-1 overall and 2-0 in conference. The CC women will next return home to host Montreat College on Wednesday at 4:00 pm.
