Columbia Crushes Converse

SPARTANBURG, S.C.-  Freshman Jessica Martinez (Williamstown, NJ) scored a hat-trick as she led the Fighting Koalas  past the Valkyries, 3-0, on Friday night at the Hayden Abney Fulp field.

Martinez scored two goals in the first half that both came off of fast break plays in the 23rd minute and the 35th minute.  In the second half, she received a pass from Clare Williamson (Halesown, England) in the box and put away her third goal of the match.

Converse was in the hunt all game and was only outshot 13 to 10 by Columbia, but was unable to capitalize on their attempts.

Columbia College Fighting Koalas looks to continue their winning streak at Coker College this week on September 21st @ 7:00 p.m.
