Women's Soccer Shuts Out KCU for 5th Straight Win

GRAYSON, KY - The Columbia College women's soccer rolled to their 5th straight win and third consecutive shutout as they dismantled Kentucky Christian 5-0 on the road Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Koalas got out to a fast start as freshman forward Malia Kincaid scored within the first 21 seconds of the match off an assist from junior midfielder Kimia Hughey. The Koalas then added a second goal in the 34th minute when senior forward Jordan Myers scored from an assist from senior midfielder Brooke Piscitello. CC took a 24-0 shot advantage into the break.

Kincaid then added her second goal of the game and 10th of the season in the 51st minute scoring off an assist from junior defender Alyssa Collins. Myers then scored her second goal of the game and 7th on the season in the 70th minute off an assist from Eisenring. Freshman defender Madison Dibert finally ended the scoring with her goal six minutes later at the 75 minute mark off an assist from Myers, her 8th of the season. Myers now has 22 points on the year. Dibert's goal was her third.

The Koalas outshot the Knights 13-1 in the second half totaling 37 shots on the day led by 13 from Kincaid and 8 from Myers. Goalkeeper Teagan Eisenring picked up the shutout playing 80 minutes in net.

Columbia improves to 8-6 overall and 5-5 in the AAC while KCU falls to 1-15 overall and 0-12 in the conference.

The Koalas will next go back on the road to face Bluefield on Wednesday at 2 PM.
