TWU Women Too Much for Lady Koalas

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Columbia College women's soccer team suffered a tough 3-0 loss at home to the 2024 AAC Runners-Up, the Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon from Younts Stadium.

TWU broke through early scoring in the 9th minute of action. The Koalas then came back as soph. forward Malia Kincaid found space in the middle of the field and was looking to score before getting tripped up and fouled inside the box forcing the referee to red card one of the TWU women. Unfortunately, the Koalas could not take advantage, but the Bulldogs had to play a woman down for the rest of the game.

TWU then added their second goal in the 28th minute to take a 2-0 lead into the break and an 11-3 shot count lead. In the second half, the Lady Bulldogs struck again on a free kick over junior goalkeeper Teagan Eisenring's outstretched arms in the 50th minute to increase their lead to 3-0. CC was only outshot 6-3 in the second half, but could not quite find the back of the net in the tough defeat.

Eisenring made five saves on 8 shots on goal as she and the Koalas fell to 2-1-1 on the season. TWU improved to 2-0.

The Koalas will next be in action on Wednesday evening they remain home to host defending conference champ, Truett McConnell University (Ga.) at 6:30 pm.
