Women's Soccer Finishes Makeup game with Milligan Falling 1-0

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Columbia College women's soccer team's home game with Milligan University that was suspended on Sept. 20 due to lightning was completed on Thursday as the teams played the final 47 minutes of action. Milligan came away with the 1-0 win.

The Lady Koalas had a golden opportunity to score midway through the second half as junior midfielder Kaky Sears had a terrific breakaway shot headed toward goal before the MU keeper made a big save.

Milligan scored the only goal of the game back in the early part of the first half in the 5th minute played in September. 

CC outshot the Buffaloes 6-3 in the first half and 3-1 in the second half to win the shot count 9-4.

Junior keeper Teagan Eisenring made one save on two shots on goal while Sears led the team with 3 shots on goal. Junior midfielder Kinzly Cohen also attempted three shots.

Columbia falls to 5-7-4 overall and 2-7-3 in the conference while Milligan improved to 9-3-1 in the AAC and 10-4-2 overall.

The Koalas will next host Bryan College on Saturday during Senior Day at 11 AM as Columbia College celebrates homecoming.
