Lady Koalas Shut Down Regent on the Road

NORFOLK, Va. - The Columbia College women's soccer team erased a scoreless tie at half to go on and shut down Regent University 2-0 on the road Wednesday evening in Virginia.

A scoreless first half saw the Koalas lead 12-1 in the shot count, but with nothing to show for it until the second half. Sophomore midfielder Madison Wells Bunting then scored the opening goal off an assist from junior Kaky Sears in the 57th minute of action to put CC up.

Sophomore forward Malia Kincaid then added the second Koala goal in the 69th minute off an assist from junior forward Calie Mosely. She led the team with four shots on goal.

Columbia then outshot the Royals 19-0 in the second half and 31-1 overall while junior keeper Teagan Eisenring made one save on one shot on goal.

The Lady Koalas improve to 3-2-3 on the year and will next step back into conference play when they host Union Commonwealth on Sunday at 11:00 am during the Koala Pantry Food Drive game.
