COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Columbia College women's soccer team cruised to a 3-1 win over visiting AAC foe Union Commonwealth (Ky.) on Sunday morning from Younts Field on Koala Pantry Food Drive Day.
The Koalas used two first half goals from junior midfielder Kaky Sears as she scored in a 10-minute span in the 25th minute off a free kick from an assist from Kincaid and in the 35th minute off an assist from junior midfielder Kinzly Cohen. CC led by just one in the shot count at the break, 7-6.
Then in the second half, Union cut the Koalas' lead in half with a goal in the 59th minute before CC struck right back getting a goal from sophomore forward Malia Kincaid in the 64th minute off an assist from Cohen. Union tried to rally in the second half, but junior keeper Teagan Eisenring held them off making six saves.
The Lady Koalas improved to 4-2-3 overall and 1-2-2 in the conference while dropping Union to 0-10 and 0-6 in league.
Columbia will next head to the mountains of North Carolina to battle Montreat College on Wednesday at 7:30 pm in AAC action.
