Pringle & Whatley Sisters Heading to NAIA Nationals This Week
MARION, IN - The Columbia College women's outdoor track and field team are competing this week at the NAIA Championships from Indiana Wesleyan University. Leading the women in the event are freshman hurdlist and jumper Mackenzie Pringle and senior racewalk sisters Jessica and Victoria Whatley as well as sophomore Mina Shull and men's racewalker Dorde Racic.
AAC Triple Jump Champion Pringle will get the Koalas underway on Thursday as she competes in the Triple Jump Finals at 5:30 PM. Pringle is coming off her individual title at the AACs in April in the TJ of 12.4 meters to get the 3rd seed at Nationals. Before the field events get underway, Pringle will first compete in the Prelims of the 100 meter Hurdles on Thursday at 2:00 pm. Pringle finished 2nd in the AACs in the Hurdles in 14.3 seconds and is the 22nd seed at Nationals.
Then, at approximately 4:45 PM on Thursday, the Whatleys and Shull will compete in the 5000 meter Racewalk Finals. Victoria is seeded 5th with a prelim time of 25:26 while Jessica is seeded 8th in 26:09. Shull then comes in 16th in 28:42. Then, at 5:15 pm on Thursday, junior men's racewalker Dorde Racic will compete in the 5000 meter finals as he is seeded 27th with a time of 26:53.
