Women's Track & Field Posts AAC Qualifiers at Roanoke and Mondo
ROANOKE, VA & WINSTON-SALEM, NC- The Columbia College women's indoor track and field team competed at two indoor meets over the weekend with the sprinters and throwers heading up to the Roanoke Invitational while the distance runners and race walkers headed to Winston-Salem for the Mondo College meet.
Women's Outstanding Performances:
200m -Mykayla Howard - 26.5 seconds, season-best (9th), Ashante Shaw -27.07 (16th), Tylashia Alston - 27.2 (18th), Ziykila Henderson - 28.6-personal record (39th), Faith Eugene - 28.8 (44th), and J. Gilliam- 30.8 (66th).
400m: T. Alston - 1:03.28 sec (15th of 46), Latrice Brown - 1:03.8 (18th), and Faith Eugene - 1:06 (23rd)
800m: Juliana Gonzalez- 2:37 (19th of 50-Conference Qualifying)
3000m: Avarose Buccino- 11:47 (19th of 32 - Conference Qualifying)
60m Hurdles: Ziykila Henderson - 9.87 seconds (16th of 29)
3000m Race Walk: 5th ranked Mina Shull - 17:22 (1st of 4), #15 Jenyfer Vigueras - 25:09 (3rd)
Women's Outstanding Performances:
Shot Put:
#15 Darci Dawson - 13.14m 1st place (New School Record), Azia Holmes- 9.9m season best (22nd of 45), Anaya Canty - 9.28m (36th), and Qusondra Wideman, 8m (40th).
Weight Throw:
#16 Darci Dawson - 16.26m (2nd-season-best), Doreshia McAllister - 14.81m (7th), Anaya Canty - 14m (10th), Sia Hooker - 10.9m (personal record, 31st).
Long Jump:
M. Blango - 5.1m (9th of 40), M. Howard - 4.3m (28th)
Triple Jump:
Makayla Blango - 10.96m (6th of 16)
*The Indoor team next returns to the track this Friday and Saturday in Lexington, VA at the VMI Invite.
