Volleyball Signs Prijic

Volleyball Signs Prijic

COLUMBIA, S.C.- Head Coach, Katie Welsh announced the addition of Richelle Prijic to the 2013 recruiting class.

Prijic is originally from Carlsbad, CA and currently attends Pacific Ridge High School. Prijic has had a successful high school campaign all four years. A three year captain, she was named to all-league in 2010 and second-team all conference. In 2011, Prijic helped lead her team to state finals and was honored as first team all-league, second-team all conference, and MVP/Player of the Year. Since she was a sophomore she has repeatedly been named the Pacific Ridge Varsity Volleyball MVP. In the off-season she has competed with both the Solana Beach Volleyball Club and the Coast Volleyball Club.

Head Coach Katie Welsh is excited about the skill level Prijic brings to the program, "The first time I saw Richelle in Las Vegas, I knew she was the type of player I wanted to bring to the program. She executes, listens to feedback, and more importantly performs under pressure."

Prijic came to visit Columbia after she helped lead her club team to win the North East Qualifier in Philidelphia. She loved the feel of the city and institution right away. "I am very excited to continue my volleyball career at Columbia College. When I visited the campus and met the girls on the team, I knew it was the perfect fit for me."

Coming off a 20-12 season the volleyball program looks to capture their first AAC Championship berth with Prijic competing as an Outside Hitter. Once at Columbia she looks to major in Business Administration.
