Volleyball Suffers Losses on the Road this Weekend
The Columbia College Volleyball team had a rough start to their third consecutive weekend of travel suffering a 3-0 loss at the hands of the Bluefield Rams. Richelle Prijic led the Koalas with 9 kills while Moriah Brookins chipped in 5 kills. Melissa Dixon handed out 23 assists and Lacey Tyner led the defensive effort with 18 digs.
From Saturday, the Koalas lost to Union 3-0 with set scores of 25-10, 25-12, 25-15. Kristyn Kasner had 6 kills and hit .364 for the match. Melissa Dixon had 14 assists. We had several travel issues getting there yesterday morning which caused us to get to Union late.
The Koalas also suffered a loss, 3-1, to the Cumberlands at Union Saturday afternoon. Set scores were 25-23, 18-25, 21-25, 19-25. Richelle Prijic had 13 kills and Caylee Antilley had 11 kills. Melissa Dixon had 30 assists and Lacey Tyner had 20 digs.
The Koalas are back in action with a 4 match homestand beginning Tuesday against St. Andrews at 6:30 pm.
