Columbia, SC – The Columbia College (SC) volleyball team will be in search of two victories this weekend when they host Reinhardt University and Point University in a couple of Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) matches this weekend.
Columbia College (1-13, 0-10 AAC) will host Reinhardt, Friday, Oct. 8, in a 6 pm match and Point on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 1 pm.
The Koalas will be looking to snap a 12-game losing streak.
The last win for Columbia College was Sept. 3, vs. Agnes Scott in the Bob Jones Invitational.
Freshman Jordan Coates leads the team in kills and is second in assists and digs. Coates has a team-leading 67 kills (1.46 k/s), 107 assists, and 102 digs. Becca Lorimer and Ta'Cori Barber have 147 assists and 157 digs, respectively, for the Koalas.
Reinhardt enters Friday's contest with an 11-6 overall and an 8-2 conference bill. In their last outing, the Eagles defeated Truett McConnell 3-0. Kaitlyn Rieke leads the teams in kills with 108 (2.30).
Point, who will face CIU on Friday, enters the weekend with a 9-9 overall record and 6-4 in the AAC. The Skyhawks defeated Brenau 3-0 last Saturday.
This is the second time Columbia College will face both teams. In the first meeting with Reinhardt, the Koalas fell 3-0 (25-16, 25-8, and 25-12), and Columbia College also fell to Point in its first meeting, falling 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 26-24).
After the weekend, the Koalas will hit the road for its next four contests beginning October 12 when they face St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, NC.
